- However I do believe that I managed to find something, that was new to me and not shown in the other UE site photographs. - The place is guarded by one old man. I was aware of this fact before I came here and I had adjusted my arrival so, that the possible guard should have been at home, watching soccer, or at least doing something else than guarding abandoned water purification plant. But that was not the case... - I had only been here for a few minutes and taken a few pictures when I saw a man approaching me. Finally he reached on the other side of an collapsed drain and looked me, the drain and surrounding area. I politely asked that can I take pictures from the place. He didn't reply at all. Finally after asking many times, he just said that what for should anybody take pictures from this place. I explained my intentions and the only reaction I got from him, was that he started walk back to his guard house. Well, I took this as a yes and started exploring the place, even when it wasn't nice to know that someone is watching me constantly. - Few minutes later I ran into the guard again and the secret behind his unfriendly attitude was revealed. It seems that the place is popular among vandals and graffiti makers. The water purification plant isn't actually anymore abandoned, even when it certainly looks like one. It's now rented by a nearby golf club and the reservoirs, that ones held polluted water, now holds fresh water, used for the golf course. Huge amount of water is pumped into the reservoirs weekly and from there to the golf course. The place holds also vehicles and other equipment that the golf club owns. The vandals that are swarming this place, have destroyed windshields from vehicles and tagged the area. According to the guard, police just doesn't care about this place, even when it's owned by somebody. After talking with him about ten minutes, he seemed to trust me and headed home. When he left, he shouted that if I see any vandals, I should take a picture of them and send it to the local police station. Well, I didn't see anybody here, but I saw a lot of evidence about the total devastation of this place... - So if you ran into the guard here, be nice to him and explain what you are doing. He's suspicious for a good reason. And for Christ sake, don't carry any spray cans with you...

- One of the biggest graffiti's here and perhaps the most well done. According to the guard, this had appeared here within few days. Now he has to call a company to clean it and the nice tax payers will pay their share of this, because the place is just rented from the city. |
