- This villa has been left in the middle of the town as the dwelling area has expanded. I assume that it's some kind of a protection area as somebody still seems to keep the lawn in a good shape. - As a child, I used to live right across the street and I can't remember that nobody would have lived in this villa even then. So it has been abandoned for awhile. When I was a child, I can remember being terrified about this building as the road that leads here goes through a wooden area and it's a dark road, no light penetrating through the dense vegetation. - Even thought a major road goes by, nobody disturbed me while I was photographing. There were some youth in that wooden area, but I guess I looked a little odd, staring, looking and taking pictures from this building, so they didn't bother me. - The tenement building is right next to this villa and they are part of the same yard. AUTUMN OF 2004 - This was the first place I ever photographed. Now it's gone to my surprise. I thought that this and the tenement were protected buildings, but it seems that the city of Järvenpää finally gave in to the pressure of money and sold the land, as it's a quite valuable place. Unfortunately at least for this villa, it's beautiful architecture is not gone forever, but it was carefully demolished, nail by nail, board by board and will be build into a new location, somewhere into central Finland. Still, it would be nice if it would have remained in it's original location. But hey, of course we need three gas station located within twenty meters... - The tenement most likely will be demolished for good, as it's architecture is not that rare and beautiful and secondly, it's a quite big building for which a new use would be a hard to come by.

- This little plant, a future tree, has forced it's way through the stairs that are made of concrete. Seems like a very persistence little tree. Made me wonder that how long are it's roots, because those stairs were quite tall. |

- This gutter has seen a few raindrops. The stone under the gutter, where during all these years the water has fallen, is worn out and has formed a little hole inside the stone. |
