- ADMISSION FEE IS BEING OUTLINED FOR SUOMENLINNA
|

- Admission fees are outlined for Suomenlinna that is located on the coast of Helsinki, to reduce the ferry rushes. The administrative committee of Suomenlinna believes also that the admission fee could also reduce the number of those people, who only come to Suomenlinna to booze. Because the traffic is continually increasing, it would be only sensible to cut off the tourists that were are not really interested of receiving here, said the chairman of administrative committee of Suomenlinna. - The ferry that travels between Suomenlinna and mainland, suffered during the last summer, from some unbearable rushes. At the maximum, you needed to queue for two hours, to get into the ferry. The chairman thinks, that an admission fee could solve this problem. If there would be an admission fee for Suomenlinna, only those who really are interested about this place, would come here. We really are not interested about those people who don't pay the ferry fee and come here with their own spirits and don't use any of the services. The administrative committee don't want to nag about this, but would like to people to respect the unique sight. The broken glass and littered landscape are real problems here. In the customer feedbacks, the common complaint is, that the island looks unclean, even when during the summer, there is twenty extra workers cleaning the parks. - Additionally to the fee, there is also some plans to clarify the ferry dock arrangements. During the last summer, there were few cases, when the people who were leaving from the ferry, were run over by the people who wanted to get into the ferry. The arrangements have to be made so, that the ferry can be emptied and loaded quickly. Corrals are not a nice looking option, but we perhaps need have that kind of solution here, said the chairman of administrative committee of Suomenlinna. |
