- The memorial in picture, was erected for the memory of gaining a victory over the troops of Napoleon. 18th of October, 1813, commanders of the allies (Sweden, Russia, Austria and Prussia) coordinated their attacks and attacked against the army of Napoleon.
- Despite the fact that Napoleon had fewer troops than the allies, the French managed to hold the allies for nine hours before they retreated over the only bridge in Leipzig.
- However, 20 000 French was trapped.
