- THE ORANGE WILL GIVE ROOM FOR A OLD PEOPLE'S HOME

- The building, that's last use was to be a youth center for the organization Orange (Oranssi), was being demolished during Thursday in Katajanokka, Helsinki. The now freeing plot is planned to be used for a new apartment buildings and it seems that the city has decided to sell the plot to a pension insurance company, that will build a new old people's home to the area. - This deal is connected to a selling of two different plots, that are facing towards sea and are in the next door of the now gone Orange building. According to a bidding contest, they are going to a construction firm, with a huge total sum of 16,5 million euros. The plot that is facing towards north in Linnankatu, has a price tag of 4,7 million euros and it has a planned right to build 3 500 floor square metres in a plot that's 2 500 square meters large. The city council will eventually approve the plot deals. |
