Orno's Lamp Factory In Kerava, Picture 1 Late autumn, 2002

- To be honest, I have no idea for what purpose this now abandoned building was once build. However, it appears to be some kind of office building when you look at all those windows and almost no sign of a possible assembly hall. This place is located in a same yard than a still working company, that appears to have an assembly hall. I suspect that this building once was in their use, but as business these days is slow, they had to close some of the offices. Perhaps... This is in the middle of town and also guarded place, so I'd had to be quite quick to take the photos and then get out from there. I really don't want to run into some guard during dark hours. There would be too much explaining to do.

- I do believe that there is an underground tunnel going between this abandoned building and that still working company. Between these two building was a roof and the area was strengthen with asphalt. Ground also was a bit warm and no snow covering it. That lead to the conclusion of a possible underground tunnel. Interesting place to photograph and I'm satisfied with these pictures. Taken during the dark hours without a photoflash gave an interesting result. The sky isn't completely black even during the evening and night. Some rays from sun still do lighten the sky. Yes, and of course the moon and the stars give a little light also. However, this little light in the sky gave this reddish style to these pictures.

Late autumn, 2003

- That was a year ago and I must say that I was wrong with a quite many things, when I only looked the place from the outside. I was a bit late here, as there was a mix up with emails and I didn't receive email about this place until it was almost too late. One part of the building was already gone and the stairs leading to upper floors looked very unstable. So I only roamed in the basement, which was interesting enough. I doubt that the upper floors would have contained anything more than empty office rooms, which I've seen enough. Of course I could be wrong, again, but that we will never know as these are the last pictures from this building, as it was demolished at the end of the October 2003.

- "Gas bottles"

- Just an old sign, with some pieces of it missing. I don't believe there really is any gas bottles inside of this door.

- Well I was right and wrong at the same time. There wasn't no gas bottles, at least not anymore, but I certainly didn't think that the door would lead to a such a huge basement. This area really has been an assembly hall and in the distance, is a corridor leading to another assembly hall in the building that was already demolished. The building has been built in the sixties presumably and memory from that is, that the place is filled with asbestos warning signs. I was well aware about this fact, before I came here and so I was prepared for that. Although the damp climate did decrease the worry of asbestos a bit, as the dust was also moist and didn't start to whirl when I walked here. No tunnel seems to be leading anywhere from the basement or if there is a tunnel, it was located in the building that was demolished first.
