- JÄRVENPÄÄ GAINS OWNERSHIP OF AN OLD INDUSTRIAL BUILDING

- The old lady who has written her name into the history of Järvenpää, gave the full ownership of an old industrial building to the city of Järvenpää, through her representative. The representative made an official deal with the city of Järvenpää, where the city will get a full ownership of the old industrial building located in the Myllytie. The building is located near a protected villa. The city of Järvenpää did already gain the ownership of the land area and the building in 1982, but it still was under the management right of the old lady. The city lawyer has been inspecting the building and according to him, it's in a bad shape. The building is no longer suitable for living and we have free hands what we will do with it. Most likely option is, that it will be demolished said the lawyer. - The lawyer however couldn't say any specific date, but used the old phrase: "As soon as possible". Due to the city planning, a new school or old folks home can be build to the place. At the moment there's a second-hand bookshop in the building and few people also live in the building, even when it's not suitable for living. Originally the building was a weaving mill and it produced benches and curtains for example to the national railways. |
