Remote-controlled Target Vessel: Hessen

- Remote-controlled Target Vessel: Hessen

- Launched: 18th of September, 1903

- Commissioned: 19th of May, 1905

- Fate: The ship survived the war without any damage and was taken to Soviet Union after the war, where it served in it's old role, as an target practice ship. The ship was renamed as Tsel and served in the Baltic Fleet. The ship was scrapped sometime in the mid 1950's.

NOTE: Hessen was one of the old battleships that Germany was allowed to keep after the Treaty of Versailles. First it served as a training ship and later from 1935 onwards as a target practice ship. Even when the ship was a target for several of the major German ships from 1937 onwards, it didn't suffer any heavy damage to the superstructure.
