Gdansk Ruins, Part I, Picture 1- Gdansk, even when the city really isn't that big, contains an awful lot of ruins. Looking at these ruins and their architecture, would indicate that all of these are ruins from the battles fought here during the Second World War.

- Look at the building in the picture, it's walls are very thick, thicker than in any building that is built today. The windows have a groove, in which I could sit with ease.

- This ruin is located about two to three hundred meters from the granary ruins. Perhaps this also was one of the granaries, even when it's located a bit outside from the granary island. In any case, I suspect that the building was destroyed in the battles that raged here in the Spring of 1945 and left like this after the war.

- The city of Gdansk has been renovating some of the buildings which are located on the channel shoreline and no wonder really, as I can believe that the buildings located in the prime area of Gdansk are quite valuable. Perhaps ten to twenty years ago, there were many more ruins in Gdansk, but the city surely isn't lacking places to see even now.

- The place like mentioned is only some two to three hundred meters from the granary ruins and from the central area, but still even as the distance isn't that great, the area felt a bit ghetto. Certainly not a healthy place to stay too long. The interiors, if one can even use the word, is non-existing and now contains a forest and a sleeping place for some person.

- Entrance into the ruin. Like I said, it's a forest inside of the walls now.

- The other side of the building isn't so interesting looking, as there's no windows  anymore, just a brick wall and nothing else.
