- DEMOLITION OF A BUILDING ON A LIVE TV SHOW

- The British TV will broadcast a program, where a building, chosen by the viewers, will be demolished.

- The program is called Demolition and even when a building will be demolished, a new one will be build to the site at the expense of the Channel Four. Demolition continues the succesful format, where the viewers were able to express their opinion about architecture. The program which was broadcasted on the British TV recently, the buildings which needed restoration more than other buildings were chosen and after that, those were restored.

- In this new show, the viewers will first vote for the most horrible looking buildings and after that the architects will express their opinion. Finally, the viewers will choose, which building will be demolished.

- If a similar show would be shown in Finland, there would be a lot of potential buildings to be the star of this program.

- Many people consider the "makkaratalo" in the central Helsinki to be a really ugly and also the "lump of sugar, sokeripala" which was designed by Alvar Aalto to Enso Gutzeit and now stands next to the Cathedral of Uspenski, is considered ugly looking.
